Now you can be a part of the Mob’s family! As an official representative of our amazing team, you can expect to be personally rubbing shoulders with various talent. When you are recruited, you will be responsible for covering events and representing the Mob’s Press.

Something that you should keep in mind as a representative of the Mob is carrying yourself professionally, as well as being courteous and respectful to the acts and the venue. A balance between openness and professionalism is key, which will come with ongoing practice. Remember you are not critics, you are covering events from a media/press point of view and as time progresses you will undoubtedly master this.  The Mob’s Press is a positive entity media outlet. Yes, we will review shows that may not be up to par with standards or below expectations, but that doesn’t mean we bash the artists. The ultimate goal is not to demean the acts or talents. Keep in mind that almost everything can have a positive side. Having said that, our aim is not to lie or embellish the facts. Do not emphasize on the negative as much as you concentrate on the fun and the positive like the cool bartender or the neat venue (and if that’s the problem, go the other way.) however, if you feel the need to say what’s on your mind, just word it properly. You can be critical or opinionated without being mean. Remember to end on a positive note as there is enough negative in the world. Let’s share the sunshine, shall we?

As someone who has gone through this personally, I have first-hand experience and I can attest to the fact that being a part of this has changed me for the better. I have learned so much about networking and as a result of that I have had the privilege of meeting really amazing people within the industry, and even developing close friendships that have enriched my life! It has aided me in developing not only my ability to write better (which is something that I have been passionate about for a majority of my life) but has also helped me to overcome the anxiety of conversing with strangers. At the end of the day, I absolutely believe that this experience will benefit you in unimaginable ways!
