immaBEAST Announces Nominees for BET Awards 2016

Last night marked yet another leap and bound for the notorious WillDaBeast Adams, as him and his revolutionary dance crew “immaBEAST” graced the BET award’s as well as had the privilege of announcing the BET award’s nominee, displaying excerpts of his own choreographed dances to each individual track.

William WillDaBeast Adams proceeded to post a short clip of himself and co-worker/ co-choreographer Janelle Ginestra  present at the award’s show as they both displayed their gratitude for the support from BET, as well as for the honor of presenting the nominees for this year’s event.

Indeed, it’s that time of year again! This year’s BET awards were probably one of the most memorable shows of all time. Thematically it was a tribute of the recently deceased legends Prince and Mohammed Ali (God, if you give us Prince, Mohammed Ali, and Michael Jackson back, you can have the Kardashians!)

Highlights from the evening included a surprise appearance from the Queen B herself, alongside rapper Kendrick Lamar which set the tone for the rest of the evening. It was fire! It makes me wish I could have been there personally, but you know, in this technological day and age a girl can watch re-caps and dream right?

At any rate, each artist brought their A-game to last night’s affair. There was never a dull moment as each artists brilliantly shone in their own unique way. Some of my personal favorite action packed moments that took place that night were when Usher set the stage on an unquenchable fire when he featured with Young Thug (wearing a “Don’t Trump America” jacket no less!) and when Mohammed Ali’s daughter Laila Ali gave an emotional speech in honor of the remembrance of her father’s character and heart. And I quote:

“My father always said, ‘The man who views the world at 50 the same way as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life,’ ” she said. “As my dad grew older, he evolved in his mind, his heart and his spirit, but one thing that never changed was his love and gratitude for all people. These past few weeks, my father’s generosity and love has been matched by a worldwide outpouring of love and reverence for him and our entire family,” Ali continued. “We’re all honored and grateful for the love, kindness and appreciation that’s been shown to him in return. My father also once said, ‘If people love each other as much as they love me, it would be a better world.’ If he was here today he would humbly ask you to pray, not just for our family, but for all of mankind.”

Truly captivating and as beautiful as a wildflower,  Laila Ali made an impact that night that her father would have undoubtedly been proud of. The spirit of these two deceased legends filled the air that night, as the energy ran high not only radiating off  of the many fantastic performers, but also the audience in admirable exchange.

Prince’s ex-wife Mayte Garcia made an appearance that night sporting a sheer floral gown and appeared that night alongside Musician Sheila E. who performed a medley of songs during her tribute to the late singer Prince at the 2016 BET Awards in Los Angeles, California, as well as Janelle Monae who also paid homage to the deceased legend, performing chart topping hits “Delirious,” “Kiss,” “Pop Life,” and “I Would Die 4 U”

Overall, the entire night was memorable, to say the least.

I really enjoyed watching the re-caps and observing the acts. There was certainly never a dull moment, and it was definitely a beautiful commemoration of influential lives lost. Their lives may no longer be, but their legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of many men.
